Boudreau Powers Bolted-B's To Win!
Greg Lantz
Greg Lantz- 3 "Assists"
Canton, MA- Derek Boudreau scored three goals and added one assist, as Local 103 defeated Everett's Auto Parts 6-3 last night.  Everett's came out strong in the first period; outskating Team 103 and taking a 1-0 lead early.  Russ Vicente won a key faceoff in the offensive zone, drawing the puck back to Bobby Spinale at the point.  Spinale one-timed the puck and it found it's way into the net.  The momentum continued as Billy Coughlin and Russ Vicente scored to put 103 up by a score of 3-1.  Everett's scored later to make it 3-2, but Boudreau's Hat-Trick put the game out of reach.  Greg Lantz also claims to have had three assists in the game....  Steve MacPherson played fantastic in goal, making several big saves as his team tired.  With the win, The Bolted B's improve to 3-0-0 on the season.  Local 103 is off until next Friday, (Oct.24th) when they play the Sin Bin Comets. (Canton SportsPlex, 9:30PM)

Team 103 Seeks Revenge Against Everett's
Chris Gracia
Gracia- A welcome addition.
Canton, MA- When the Bolted B's take the SportsPlex ice Tonight, they will be looking for their third win of the young season. They will also be looking for a little payback for the two losses that the "Junkyard Dogs" placed on them last season.  The two games, played on February 8th and March 7th, were in the middle of a horrid strech where 103 won only one game in eight tries.  If Dorchester's Finest expect to win Tonight, they will have to do it without Shayne Dacko and Mike Natale.  Neither player will be in the lineup.  With the game being played on the West Coast, (10:40 start) you can expect both benches to be short.  The team is anticipating a boost with the expected return Chris Gracia.  The gritty Alternate Captian has missed the first two games of 2008-09 with a foot injury.  In keeping with club policy, the team refused to declare witch foot was injured.

Journeyman Pick-Up Hour Put On Ice

South Boston, MA- Local 103 Hockey regrets to announce the cancellation of our weekly Journeyman Pick-Up Hour.  The hour was to be every Wedensday, from 4:00PM - 5:00PM at the Castle Island Rink in South Boston.  The hour was taken from us when South Boston Youth Hockey complained to the DCR that they had priority over an Adult group.  We would like to thank Dorchester Youth Hockey for trying their best to help us find ice time in the past, as well as their help with the Liberty Cup Hockey Classic.

As of Today, we have very little information on when, or if, we will be skating this Winter.  Stay tuned to local103hockey.com for all updates.

We apologize for any inconvenience.

Coughlin 'Trick' or Treats Early, 103 Wins!

Quincy, Ma- Billy Coughlin scored three times last night, powering Local 103 to a 7-3 win over the Boston River Rats. The two teams played to a 1-1 tie in the first period, but that's as close as the Rats would get.  The Bolted B's would score three times in the second to take a commanding 4-1 lead.  The first of the three Coughlin strikes were accompanied by Derek Burke's second of the night and Shayne Dacko's first goal of the season.

Coughlin scored two more times in the third period to complete his second Hat-Trick in as many games.  He now has six goals on the season. (6-3-9 totals)  The night's scoring was completed with a Bobby Spinale goal at 14:05 of the third.  The goal was tapped in after Dacko hustled down the right wing side and alertly dropped a perfect pass to the open winger.

Steve MacPherson played well in goal, winning his second game of the year. (2-0, 2.50 G.A.A.)

The team is off until Oct.17th, when they play a "West Coast" (10:40 PM) Game at Canton SportsPlex.  The opponent on that night will be Everett's Auto Parts, who beat Local 103 in two of the three meetings last season.

Team 103 Opens Up With A Win.
Mike Natale
Natale- One Goal

Canton, MA- Local 103 Hockey opened up the 2008-09 campaign last night with an ugly win.  In fact, the only thing uglier than the win was the two opponents on the SportPlex ice.  Local 103, playing with only seven players spent most of the night trying to avoid the spinning propellers of the KPMG White Hellicopters.  The out-of breath 'Bolted B's' and the out of sorts KPMG Team were brutal to watch.  Although the final score was 7-2, the game was played mostly in the neutral zone; with broken passes and broken plays ruling the day.

Bright spots of the night were Billy Coughlin and Russ Vicente.  The Coughlin Hat-Trick and Vicente's pair of goals made the difference. The difference between an opening-night win and a demoralizing loss.  Mike Natale and Jon Fortier each added goals as well, while Bobby Spinale had a pair of assists. Also playing well were the KPMG goaltender and 103 Backstop Steve MacPherson.  The two traded big stops all night long.

Team 103 is off until next Friday when they face the Boston River Rats at Quincy Youth Arena.  Good seats are still available. Game time is at 9:30 PM.

103 Hockey Signs MacPherson

MacPherson

Quincy, MA- Local 103 Hockey has announced that the team has signed Steve MacPherson to a one-year contract. The veteren goaltender last suited up for the Black & Gold during the 2006-2007 season.  He played great in the Post-Season, leading the team to It's fourth NESHL Championship.  In keeping with club policy, details of the deal were not disclosed.

When G.M. Bobby Spinale was asked about the return of the erstwhile netminder, he replied. "Stevie was a huge asset to us two seasons ago.  We went on that run and he was a huge part of it.  It's gonna be great to have him back."

Steve MacPherson was not available for comment yesterday.

Golf Outing A Blast!
BarkerandGillmore
"The Price is Wrong, Ricie!"

Easton, Ma- 103 Hockey held It's Fourth Annual Golf Outing on Saturday, Sept. 13th at the Easton Country Club.  The weather held up and everyone had a great time!  Mark Reagan's team finished first with a score of minus eleven.

Mike Hagerty had the longest drive on the 18th hole, while Chris Gracia and Mike Delano won the closest to the pins.

We'd like to send a special thank you out to Easton C.C. and the Lombardi Family.  As always, they were gracious hosts and we look foreward to coming back next year!

"Soup" Campbell To Be Among Honorees
souplogo

Dorchester, MA- Local 103 is hosting it's Annual Retirement Dinner tomorrow night at Freeport Hall.  For many it is the culmination of decades worth of hard work.  It is a night to honor the men and women who have paved the way for our wages, benefits, and working conditions.  Tomorrow evening Jim "Soup" Campbell will be one of the honorees.  Soup has been a member of Local 103 for more than Forty Years and has dedicated much of that time to the building of our proud hockey program.

Although the team is sad to see the passing of the torch, we know that this is not the end.  Soup will remain with the team as a punching bag during practice.  He will also serve as the team "Sucker"; bringing beer and cheer to our home games during the 2008-09 campaign.

As we wish Good Luck to all of our retirees tomorrow night, we would like to take the opportunity to make special mention of OUR #49! May you have many years of good health and prosperity!
